Female Blackbird 2
I have always liked the poetry of Ted Hughes. In his poem "Thrushes" he describes the birds as having -
"No indolent procrastinations and no yawning states,
No sighs or head-scratchings. Nothing but bounce and stab
Blackbirds belong to the Thrush family and so it's not really surprising that watching this female feeding this morning I was reminded of the poem. Her single mindedness in searching out the mealworms and then the "bounce and stab" were much in evidence.
I never thought that "blipping" would mean a greater interest in the birds visiting the garden, but it's becoming a bit addictive!
