Snail Cottage

This is a house in the village where my son lives. I wonder why it was called that…maybe lots of snails in the garden when it was built? Always interesting to see the names of old houses in villages where no numbers on houses. My sons house is called Pear Trees as I think it was built on part of a pear orchard…a couple of old pear trees still in the garden.( It’s 1950’s I think , not as old at this and not thatched!]
