Testing

The River Test rises about a mile and  a half before this point. Even this early in its course, the river had powered at least two mills (now abandoned), and this is where the second or third mill course rejoins the main stream.

I've never seen any sort of mechanism in the metal frame in the picture, but I'm always impressed how well the civil engineers harnessed water power.
