Fruit and Veg
It was a beautifully bright frosty morning. Given the slow commutes to work this week, I caught an early bus to Edinburgh as I had a train to catch. Typically there were no hold ups this morning, so I had lots of time to kill.
I was on the 9:15 to Glasgow. It was cancelled at 9:29. Everyone ran for the 9:30, it too was cancelled. We were advised that there was a signalling problem and to go for the 9:45, and guess what it too was cancelled. So far I had sat on three trains but gone nowhere. I watched the 10:15 on the board, but a platform didn’t come up for it, so I went for the 10:20 to Glasgow Central, my fourth train of the morning, and it eventually left, a little late, but I was on my way to Glasgow at last.
I met BB at Kelvinbridge. We had planned to go for breakfast or brunch, but ended up going for lunch as it was now afternoon! We had a very nice lunch. He had a huge pizza, and I had macaroni cheese, perfect comfort food. We then had a wander, and I dropped him off at the library and walked back into the city centre to meet a friend.
We went to a music (the four seasons) and light show, which was a very nice experience, especially as we were lying on beanbags. I may even have momentarily rested my eyes!
We emerged back into the day and went for a cuppa and a catch up. Later I met BB at the station and we got the train back, with no problems.
We picked up some tea at M&S, and then caught our bus home. I wasn’t very hungry, but the boys were. We had a quiet rest of evening.
I spotted this colourful display of fruit and veg near Kelvinbridge. The extras are from the light show.
