Salmon Sunset

I knew I'd find some kind of sunset when I went outside, but I was not expecting this colour. Before it appeared, I was taking photos of a flock of Black Bellied Whistling Ducks flying overhead. Their call sounds like a whistle and they sing almost constantly while flying. Are you are curious about that? Have a listen here

Then this salmon colour fell over the river... I promise there was no editing here!

We spent time with Mom today while my sister and her husband went the beach and took a long walk. She's been organizing visiting nurses, occupational & physical therapists and Doctor appointments. Thank goodness Kathy worked as a Communications specialist, a skill she still excels at. I am often in awe of what she accomplishes! I made inquiries about Assisted Living communities, visited with Mom and fixed lunch so Kathy could take some time for herself. Steve told stories, joked and made us laugh, I brought my homemade zucchini bread and chicken rice soup.

What's most surprising is how the diagnosis of Alzheimer's has changed mom's demeanor. She's calmer. There's an answer now. She told me she was trying to "fix it." She also repeated to me a number of times that she never expected this would happen. I wish we could have gotten her to the Neurologist sooner, but she was fighting it then and refused. I hope the peace she's feeling now lasts as long as possible.
