Magic was made here

Commuted on l'Biscuite last night. Bike therapy works wonders so the Nightshift was both productive and a pleasure, even squeezing in a lovely video natter with bestie!

On the homeward stretch this morning the two wheeler aimed itself through the centre of Stockport to pay a quick homage to Strawberry Studios.

Strawberry was formed in1968 by a road manager called Peter Tattersall, musician Eric Stewart & soon joined by Graham Gouldman, the latter two going on to form the band 10cc who recorded several of their classic albums there.

Joy Division recorded their debut album Unknown Pleasures at the studio with the help of Factory Records Producer Martin Hannett.

Amongst other notables, in 1974, Paul McCartney recorded a track at Strawberry - Leave it - with his brother Mike (aka Mike McGear). The fruity studio name took its inspiration from the Beatles track - Strawberry Fields Forever - a favourite of Eric Stewart.

It closed as a recording studio in 1993 and is now used for video production.
