Dagur leikskólans - Preschool Day

Every year on the 6th of February we celebrate the "Dagur leikskólans - Preschool Day" in Iceland. On that day in 1950 pioneering preschool teachers founded their first organization. Since then, this day has been intended for a focused discussion about the value of preschool in Icelandic society. 

My preschool is currently archiving various old documents that have been stored in boxes for a long time and it is interesting to take a look at some of those papers. Here's a document from a preschool student teacher in September 1976. 

In the afternoon I went to the cinema to see the first movie of The French Film Festival in Akureyri 2025, "Un p'tit truc en plus".
