Life in Sunny Dubai

EXPO City

It was a better-paced morning, just as weekends should be: getting things done, etc. G suggested we go out after lunch, so I suggested the Harvest Festival at EXPO City, which is running in the cooler winter months. Within minutes, I bought tickets online, and we headed out.

The day was horrible. Widespread dust hanging in the air making everything look awful, especially the light. G drove us there as she needs to go back there on Tuesday for a "Girls in STEM" workshop. It's the first time in all these years that she's driven to EXPO City.

When we arrived, we discovered that the Harvest Festival had been cancelled due to the weather. This was weird because I had bought the tickets just before leaving home. However, they said I could use them anytime while the festival was on. To make the trip worthwhile, they allowed us to visit the Terra exhibition. We were ready to have a cup of tea and cake, so we took a ride to the Al Wasl Dome.

By this time, the temperature had dropped, and there was a cool breeze. We chatted with the table next to us—two young Italian guys with a film camera—an original Nikon F!

We came home via Carrefour. And I got to watch Cars 3 (having watched Cars 2 last night!).
