Snowdrop patch
This is my main bed of snowdrops in the garden, they are perhaps a bit behind other years but I nearly always photograph them at this time. I think of them as the birthday snowdrops. As I have already mentioned yesterday would have been my mother’s birthday and most of these snowdrops originated from her (she got many of them from my grandad’s allotment in Bingley!) Today is daughter Grace’s birthday so I think of them as hers too, in fact the little Columbine fairy statue in the background is meant to be her.
When I went out to blip these it was drizzling so there is a rime of moisture on them. The wooded patch behind them is a Pasque flower ( Pulsatilla ) which is coming into bud and in the middle distance you can just see the purple patch of crocus flowers under the trees.
When I set off to walk up the village for my late morning hair appointment it was dry but nonetheless it’s a damp miserable day.
I’m now ‘watching’ the Wales / Italy 6 Nations rugby game and doing my £3 bargain jigsaw ‘Indian Pillows’.
Looking forward to a curry tonight.
Hope you have a lovely day and evening with your friends Grace. Happy birthday xxx!
