Return of the sun

A view looking back towards Reelig and Moniack, as I walked in the direction of Achnagairn. It was cold but beautifully sunny today. It's always nice to get to this point of the winter (Candlemas was a couple of days ago I think) and notice how much higher and longer the sun is staying up in the sky. In midwinter, where our house is positioned, the sun actually goes down behind the hill in this photo at around 1.30!

The extra shows my dog finding another fascinating smell on the walk. Later on as we walked back home using the stubble fields as a short cut, we disturbed a hare. My dog gave up the chase very quickly, which I was glad about. It's impressive that she even tries!
