Oscar at the Pub
A messy morning. Too many irritations.
Why do I have to write to the DVLA* explaining the new V5C for my 500 shows my surname incorrectly (abbreviated). The garage advised (as did the DVLA when I finally found a way to communicate with them via Twitter) - their computer has a limit on the number of letters that can be input.
To correct my surname, I had to write to them and return the V5C. I've asked them to repay the cost of the stamp – any bets whether they will. I just find this absolutely. disgraceful.
Finally got out after lunch. Took the DVLA letter to the Post Office. Then had a well earned Aspall. Don't fret, I only have a ½ pint.
Miserable and damp. My fingers were really cold despite wearing gloves.
My bargain new robot arrived, to clean floors/carpets. A doddle to do the initial set up. Will map out the flat tomorrow (looks easy to do - all controlled on an app/Alexa. Named my new servant Ari after our lovely Italian friend who recommended it.
*DVLA stands for Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. It's a UK government agency that manages driver and vehicle records, licenses, and taxes
