More surprises every day

We set off from Swakopmund for our journey to Sossusvlei.

We drove through Wolvis Bay (not impressed but it is a big port). We were all delighted to see a huge number of flamingos. Jason, our guide, had not told us that this would happen.

We watched for ages, taking care not to disturb them. A group of walkers did spook them and we enjoyed the sight of them rising into the air and circling around, before settling again.

We drove over the  Tropic of Capricorn. 

Our break came at Solitaire where we had lunch in a walled garden. There are a lot of car wrecks around this little settlement.

We were able to see some of the massive dunes at our sundowner shoot. Tomorrow we go to Deadvlei........ with a very early start to be first there.
