Ramblings and Mutterings

Surprise

Up at ridiculous o'clock to head to London for a couple of days.

A couple of meetings in the morning which was positive and a very annoying conversation with an arrogant consultant.

My young padawan was in the office and she nipped out before lunch, to sort a few things. To my surprise when she came back, she'd been to Fortnum and Mason to buy a bottle of sparkling tea for me, as a thank you for the support showing during her masters. It was an absolute pleasure and she didn't need to do that. It was very much appreciated.

In the afternoon we shared quite a few laughs and she suggested I go to the opera for the evening. So, that is what I did. The Marriage of Figaro at the London Coliseum. It was a good production, but it was in English not the normal Italian, so I felt a bit cheated. The impressionist John Culshaw was sitting in my row.

It was a late one by the time I got back to the hotel.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  The generosity of my young padawan
2.  A night at the opera
