A sweet smelling rose
When our friend came to see us two nights ago, he brought me an enormous bunch of long stemmed pink roses - I think he went into a florist and ordered them, and then nearly fainted at the price because a London florist charges a lot more than a florist in Cape Town SA, where he is from! Anyway they are beautiful and given that the weather is so lousy today it seemed an obvious choice of a blip today.
Last night we had a very enjoyable belated Burns Night dinner at our book club meeting. I have added an extra of how beautifully our tatties, neaps and haggis were presented.
I managed to walk Xena this morning before it started raining, but now the rain has come in and at midday it was hailing with a temperature of 3.5C. Cold weather is expected here over the next week, and I am escaping to the Isle of Skye where I would have expected the weather to be worse but if the forecast can be believed it is going to be sunny but cold. I have packed many layers and taken more than one jacket...
I had another physio session today, the laser and ultrasound treatment is definitely helping and my wrist is starting to feel a lot better. We are also working on ways to help my lower back pain.
I am posting my blip early as the taxi is about to arrive to take me to Heathrow airport. I am flying to Glasgow and will walk from the airport to the airport hotel where we are all staying tonight. I fear tomorrow morning will be a very early start as we plan to be in Glencoe long before sunrise! Tomorrow is going to be a long day...
