It's Really Piling Up!

Yet another 4-5 inches of snow fell yesterday, and we are buried in a pristine blanket of white.  It is actually a good thing in some ways as snow is a great insulator and it keeps the house warmer than without it.  On average, snow has an R-value of 1 per inch — about the same as wood. Twelve inches of snow have roughly the same insulating value as a 2×4 wall filled with fiberglass insulation.  Luckily, it was over early, and I'm all plowed out. A little girl is coming this afternoon to make Valentines!
