Rain greeted us again this morning when we opened the blinds. And the temperature has never gotten out of the 40's (4.5-9.5 C) all day. A house in Santa Rosa, rebuilt on a burn scar from the Tubbs Fire slid down the hill in a landslide and is a total loss. The Russian river has reached flood stage and the kayaks are coming out. Firefighters gave a man a ride across the river so he could make a doctor's appointment. A medical center's parking lot is knee deep in water. I hope that isn't where the man's medical appointment was.
There was a senate fillibuster lasting through the night protesting the appointment of Russ Vaught, as head of the Office of Management and the budget. He is one of the authors of Project 2025, the Felon's playbook for ending our democracy.. He was confirmed today.by the senate. I think, even more than Project 2025, the plan is to unleash so many orders, without any notion of how to carry them out or whether they are legal, to create such a blizzard of distractions, half baked notions, and evil takeovers that nobody knows where to start to combat them. It's like a real life game of whack-a mole. I believe it's deliberate. and I believe that Musk is even more dangerous as he follows his entrepreneurial plan of doing things as fast as possible and breaking things along the way. Neither one of them cares about the 'price of eggs' as they say, or the fact that they are hurting the very people they promised to help.
Putting down the paper, I went and got my hair cut. Might as well be presentable for the apocalypse....
On the way home I took advantage of a lull in the rain to run into CVS and wandered around endlessly trying to find things like vitamins and earplugs . By the time I came out if was raining hard and my new haircut was reduced to drowned rat status on the run to the car.
Spike an I have been watching it rain all afternoon...The picture for the day is some red plates in a plate rack which I took in several layers with the slow shutter.app.The extra is an abstract called Sea and Sky done by my neighbor Ann Rosmarin
