Hellebore At Chartwell
Another local walk to Chartwell, home of Winston Churchill. We decided to join an architectural walk around the building. It sounded a bit dreary but we loved it and learnt so much about the house and Churchill's struggles to maintain it. He did actually have to give it up in the end. But a friend bought it and gave him and Clementine the right to live in it for the rest of their days, when it then reverted the National Trust.
Jak couldn't really understand the purpose in standing still and staring up at brick walls. He had a conversation with the two other dogs on the walk who clearly agreed. Between them they all quietly made their boredom known with doleful little moans. Fortunately they were too polite to disturb the talk (although needless to say Jak always managed to be just a little louder than the other two).
