Frost, hospital, eyes and sunset
Frosty morning but nice to see sunshine.
Had an appointment at the Eye Clinic this afternoon at 15:10. Arrived early at 14:50 and it said there was an hour delay with Mr Cota. I was called in for my eye test quite soon and I had a quick test of each eye then she put dilating drops in - ouch they sting. I asked her if I could go for a coffee since there is an hour delay and she said no because I will get called for a scan quite soon but maybe after that. Not sure how long before I had the scan but it was before 15:30 and I was chatting to another patient for a while after this so it passed a bit of time and then I thought I had better not go for a coffee as I might miss my name being called.
At 16:30 I was still waiting and at 16:40 or maybe a bit later I went to check to make sure I had not been missed. The receptionist went to check and when she came back she said one more person before me. I was chatting to another patient for a while and keeping Terry informed by text of not having gone in yet (he was to pick me up as you can't drive after the dilating drops).
I was finally called in at 17:21 and by then I was seriously fed up as I had not had a drink since lunch time at 12:30.
I said he could improve my sight a bit more with laser treatment to my right eye and he has listed me for that. He thought it best to improve the sight in that eye before cataract removal on the other one. When I have had the laser treatment done he said we will discuss having the cataract on the left eye removed. I have Fuch's dystrophy so a cataract op is not so routine for me. He thought I was very lucky not to have needed a corneal transplant with the right eye. It did take some time to heal and needed extra steroids but it did heal eventually. Anyway, he thinks the other cataract is better dealt with sooner rather than later and he said it's quite bad now so it seems it has worsened a lot in a short time.
I hope the laser treatment is fairly soon.
A lovely sunset this evening but the photos I took don't do it justice. Some parts of the sky were deep pink and others deep orange.
