A very busy day! Gym class for JR, walkies for Archie, before he went round to Fergus for the day. He loves it there.
We all set off into town about 9.30 to see the early showing of the Dylan film (A Complete Unknown).
Oddly enough, the young man who had served us coffees in the lounge, came to the front of the cinema to introduce the film and tell us that he hoped we’d enjoy it. He then told us that he won’t be seeing it, in fact, he’d like to punch Timothée Chalamet on the nose as he hates him. Odd. We DID enjoy it. Very much.
From there we went to the W. That big brass ‘Walnut Whip’, in the middle of town (Extra 1, taken yesterday). Terrible design, really. In the summer, the lovely big windows with the fabulous views across the city from Calton Hill , to Arthur’s Seat and round to the castle are all facing south, so on sunny days the blinds have to come down and nothing can be seen!!!
The outside walkway was still locked and it took me several goes to get an important person to unlock the doors and walk right round for views over Princes Street (Extra 2) and further round, to Fife. After lunch in Ka Pao, I came home while the others went to another favourite, The Spence.
Archie had a fabulous day out with Fergus, and he had him all to himself, as Pip was away visiting.
We finished the action packed day with a soirée at Hazel’s, where I insisted on Dylan on the soundtrack, though I had to be in charge of the Fast Forward, as not all of his songs are soirée material…
