An Avid Lensman

4:28...

Couldn't think of a better title, at least right now, so 4.28 a.m. is the time that this fisheye image was taken, a good hour before official sunrise.

Tripod in a harvested wheatfield and Salisbury's nearby streetlamp's orange glow have caught and tainted the briskly moving clouds. The tree is only about ten feet away, in reality.

Took loads, from the same position, facing east, one after each time exposure, to try and get the best one. All were good, some more striking than others. On LARGE you can easily see the twinkly stars poking through, even the sliver of a crescent moon, in the densest orange part...

Sunrise itself didn't come to anything and the first dog walker didn't appear until 7a.m. So, I had the sounds of nearby cockerals, the dawn chorus plus other assorted waking sounds all to myself - bliss! And then the trudge home, happy and secure in the knowledge of some worthwhile pics and a satisfactory Blip - to me, there are few more satisfying feelings - I don't know about you lovely lot!

Have a great Sunday and thanks to all who looked at etc my Bikes at Night Blip of yesterday, it got quite high up in the Spotlight. I'm going to bed for a few hours, a reward for being out 'there', where it matters and where there are few better feelings, if you ask me, witnessing the slow birth of a brand new day...
