It's been a day of washing, and the towels almost dried even though it was lunchtime before they went out.

I also washed the car, which was filthy! First impressions might count, and I'm being hopeful here, when I go round some dealerships over the next week. Of course the water ran over the pavement into the gutter so I did my best to brush it away, mindful of the fact that it would freeze as soon as the sun left it.

Before all of that I made it to the bouldering wall and was pleased to see a couple of people I know, a good climber in his forties who is always in training for something, and a woman my age who climbs the same grades as me. If you go bouldering on your own you have to pace yourself so you're not exhausted in half an hour, so it was good to alternate climbing with chat.

This evening I've got to attend a meeting of the allotment committee, my first, but there are only three other members so it shouldn't be too intimidating! Before that I've going to make a batch of cauliflower** curry for the freezer, minus the portion I'll eat for dinner.

**it ended up being cauliflower, runner beans, red lentil and chickpea curry, thickened with chia seeds. Plenty of fibre there! There's quite a lot of research showing that a high fibre diet increases life expectancy.
