A view from Jeanneb

Fabulous early walk

It was almost light when we met at 7.15 am thus morning or certainly lighter than of late. It was also extremely cold with a severe frost but no ice underfoot thank fully.

Wilsden Walker who comes from Wilsden, not surprisingly, is a bit higher up than our village and alerted us to the cloud inversion in the Aire Valley below. (One of our other walkers who arrives by car was delayed as it took so long to defrost her car so we met her part way around the circuit.)

We could see some of the inversion as we climbed through the bleak tree felled landscape past Lady Blantyre’s Rock and then got a full view of it filling the Aire Valley towards Keighley as we came out of the estate into Altar Lane. I’ve put this in as an extra as it’s not long since I posted a similar shot.
The sun was well above the horizon as we crossed the field and in the distance the clouds below could be seen. Here you’ve got the sun rising and the frost on the field too.
Nice to have the crunch of frost underfoot instead of mud!
It’s a bright and beautiful day now but very chilly!

Posting quite early as I have a dental appointment to replace my temporary crown and then we are straight off to Ilkley to see ‘A Complete Unknown’.
