Roulette?
Last time we were "here"; I spotted, and was tempted by a Woronowii with unusual green marks on its outer Petals. As I said then, I was tempted.
After we were home Jerra found a Woronowii for sale online for a "modest" £35.00. The pot I saw had 4-5-6 (uncounted) in but not all had thatmarking.
This week it was Polar Bear's turn; of the dozens of pots/plants I spotted the one on the left and, again kept away from it. How's that for willpower?
Addendum.
You think £35 is a lot? Try this for size; almost like the Tulipmania of the 17th Century; When this sort of thing happened:-
"The most expensive Tulip Bulb ever sold was the Semper Augustus. Reliable historical sources show that a contract for a single bulb sold for 5,200 Guilders at the height of Tulip Mania, more than three times the typical yearly earnings of an Amsterdam merchant at the time." I have NOT bothered to equate 5,200 Guilders.
"A new snowdrop, Galanthus plicatus 'Golden Tears', has sold for a record-busting £1,850 at auction. Is there no limit to the prices galanthophiles (snowdrop lovers) will pay for these diminuitive flower bulbs?"
