Orion

It is National Astronomy Week, so I visited the Liverpool Astronomical Society’s Leighton Observatory at Pex Hill, Cronton this evening. Time was spent looking at Jupiter and Mars, the Moon (extra) and a range of different deep sky objects. Lots of light pollution, but I nevertheless enjoyed it.

In the main image the Orion constellation is clearly visible, and below it the distinctive curved shape of the Runcorn Bridge over the Mersey.
