Himilayan Balsam

Introduced to the UK in 1839, it grew much taller and stronger than it did in its native habitat. It now thrives on river banks and despite looking very pretty it is classed as a weed because it is such a bully and kills off other plants .
Each plant produces about 800 seeds and the pods explode when ripe flinging seeds up to 22 feet from the parent plant.
It is also edible.
So maybe a business opportunity for some entrepreneur......
