Unpacking
A trip to the recycling with bags and bags of garden clippings, however I thought I shouldn’t just dump all the wood that came as packing with the wendy house. No - I could turn it into heat. And err CO2 in the atmosphere which maybe isn’t quite so cool. Anyway, there was much sawing and chopping in prospect until I remembered that there was a circular saw over at the workshop. Done.
Then off to see The Brutalist at OT. Three and a half hours, but with an interval thrown in, it didn’t feel long at all. Hugely impressive but clearly it wasn’t just a story of some individuals. They were just ciphers in something much larger. Escape from fascism followed by escape from capitalism, was the obvious story. But the subplot was more intriguing - a Jewish experience - from Ben-Gurion’s radio address to the final statement that it wasn't the journey, but the destination.
