Good old Rotto!
Well I had no idea at the start of the week that I would be spending the day on Rottnest Island today, but then how could I resist taking my great friend to the island when she told me it was high on her “Bucket List”. It was the perfect day to go as we knew it would be a sweltering hot day in Perth. I believe it reached 40 degrees today. We caught the 7.30 Fast Ferry from the Hillary’s Boat Harbour and we were on the island having our first cappuccino for the day by 8.30am. The water was just a delicious blue today and we were able to take in many of the spectacular bays around the island because we had been able to take our E Bikes on board the ferry. What a blessing they were. We were even delighted when another hill popped up and there were many. I honestly don’t know how people managed to ride the island today without the pedal assist. We calculated that we covered about 20km’s this morning before heading over to Pinky’s Bar for a wonderful seafood lunch and an ice cold beer (non alcoholic I might add). Of course the stars of the show were the incredibly adorable little Quokkas who must be the most photographed marsupials on the planet. All in all it was a day we will both remember and I have added 6 extra images that I would love you to head over and see.
