from Newhaven

Lovely day. No 1 was deposited at the drop off for her DofE expedition (she was post-party tired!).

We took No 2 and 3 to the very excellent Museum (my favourite place!). There's and excellent exhibition on 'Mary Queen of Scots' which gives me goose bumps. I have read several accounts of her story, and love every one. The political intrigue, the romance, and all on our doorstep. What's not to like?

Back at weegie base camp...No 2 invited some friends for a pizza and sleepover, Mr S and I made ourselves scarce. We took No 3 out for dinner and a walk along Newhaven. Until the rain came.

We hurried home and spend a lovely few hours burning bits of silver birch in the chiminea, discussing politics and world affairs (can you tell there was a wee drink involved??). No 3 fell asleep outside - wrapped in a cosy blanket and looking at the fire.

Not sure when No 2 and her friends will sleep tonight.
