A Day In The Life

This Wabanaki word means “plenty of sturgeon” and is the name of the stream that cuts through our little city. It attracts osprey and herons during spring and summer, and provides fresh running water for ducks and geese during the winter when the Kennebec is frozen. The stream empties into this river, a popular spot during spring when fishermen and sea birds gather to catch alewives • Another sunny but chilly and windy day. It is February after all, and Punxsutawney Phil, the revered groundhog, did predict six more weeks of winter. In fact, the 45 day forecast shows 50F by the third week of March, just in time for spring!! • Peace & Love
