Commemoration

It's been mostly a rainy dreich day, although the sun came out for a couple of hours this afternoon. Whilst I was teaching. Typical. The rain had come on again by the time I set off home about 5.30pm.

Another busy day at the interface, with multiple meetings and - as indicated above - two hours of teaching. I don't do that much these days, so it tends to make me a bit anxious. Especially when I lose the thread of a sentence halfway through and absolutely cannot recover it. Hey ho. The students seemed generally happy. Another session next week, and a dissertation group session tomorrow with a colleague and five or six students together.

At home, I listened in to a buildings related discussion at the RSE which was quite interesting. I would love to know more about the history of the building. I will probably find that out in due course.

And as a result of being in meetings most of the day, I am finishing off my emails this evening. I don't much like doing emails in the evening, but since I have a full diary tomorrow from 8am until 4.30pm, I thought I had better make a start on them this evening. I hate having stuff back up.

This rather dreich blip is a commemoration plaque set into the courtyard of OC, just by the bike rack I always use. I've been thinking of blipping it for a while. I went to the ceremony to mark the 225th anniversary. And since that ceremony was related to the then upcoming refurbishment of the north side of Old College, of which I have posted many pictures over the years, it is appropriate to post this blip now, as we had a review meeting looking back over the refurbishment only yesterday.
