Oncle Hansi
Daughter#2 worked at the Business School in Strasbourg for a few years before moving to Munich and we managed to make several visits to see her. It's a lovely city. On one of the visits we brought back a long stemmed wineglass decorated with these tiny Hansi figures. Hansi was the pseudonym of Jean-Jacques Waltz, a French illustrator, caricaturist and watercolourist of Alsatian origin. He was a staunch pro-French activist, and is famous for his quaint drawings, some of which contain harsh critiques of the Germans of the time.
We never use the wine glass but it sits on the dresser in our kitchen.
We've been to Witney this afternoon. Mrsfb had her hair done. Meanwhile I popped into the garden design shop to check if they were doing anything about a planting plan for our garden. I was pleased to be told they are, in fact they are about to provide a list and suggest they buy the plants on our behalf from the nursery they use. That should be a great solution. I also popped into the domestic appliance shop that we have used a couple of times recently and I think we have found a dishwasher. A productive afternoon.
In other news grandson Rory saw the Queen today. His class were invited to the official opening of the new school he is hoping to go to in 2026. He was disappointed he didn't get to shake her royal hand. Some of his classmates did. There is a picture of the back of his head on The Mail's website. I'm not posting it here for copyright reasons, and, well, it is only the back of his head. Nice one of The Queen though.

Farewell Old Fuji Friend
My plan to ditch the Fuji for a phone worked out well.
