Marcescent

From other blippers, Gillyh and Melisseus included, I learnt this is the name given to these leaves. They are autumnal but persist on the tree all winter. They were waiting to be photographed on this dull, grey, windy and sunless day.

Today we went to the cinema in Chichester, with a 12:30 start, to see "A Complete Unknown". The film covers the emergence of Bob Dylan in the first half of the 1960s. We really enjoyed it and when we came out from the cinema at 3pm, two and a half hours had just flown by. The film carries an emotional kick in both its personal narrative as well as the wider observations about American society and Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan is powerfully resonant. I think the film's driving theme is about the importance of taking a stand based on one's integrity. It is poignantly timely for our day.
