Rosie blip
A dull start to the day which I hope wouldn't turn into rain as the u3a monthly talk was on at the Corran Halls and I normally walk down with a friend from up the road. Fortunately the rain held off though it rained while we were indoors. The talk this month was by another friend, Mary Sandilands, who has just had her book published - 'Never Argue With A Matron: Adventures in Twentieth-Century Nursing.’ An amusing talk about her life as a nurse all over the world and with some amazing pictures of her flights in jet fighters and helicopters!
Back home for lunch and then off to another u3a meeting, the Poetry Group. I had to walk up the road for a lift and again, the rain held off until we were safely ensconced in the leader’s house, when it rained all afternoon. It stopped again in time for me to walk back after my lift. Strange weather!
Our theme for today was ‘Fantastic places’ and there was a good choice of poems to read out in both definitions of the word.
Somehow I’ve not had the chance of a Blip all day, so Rosie the cat it had to be!
Quote of the Day: ‘Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.’ ― G.K. Chesterton.
