Juvenile
Michael rescued a Common Bronzewing chick that had been abandoned in the front paddock. Apparently they are very likely to abandon their chicks at the first sign of danger.
It has been sitting quietly in a shoebox, being fed and watered and seems quite content although that may be because it’s terrified. But this evening it is chirping quietly so I suspect it has settled in a little. He will release it when it’s big enough to fly.
A busy day at work where the best idea was to just go with the flow. I’ve found as Director some days are about listening to the educators who are struggling and putting aside the stress of what else is not getting done. Makes for a better day all around. There were tears and tantrums today but I think we are all feeling a little more positive about tomorrow. We shall see.
