Sarabande with crows
Kersko encouraged me to try more double exposures, but they haven’t worked so far. This one still isn’t working to my satisfaction, but I do like the crows among the notes, and this image pretty much describes my day. I’ve been working on a simplified version of Handel’s “Sarabande” (bear in mind I’m still just a year into learning the piano).
I had a great visit from Aimee, who is still struggling to overcome the addiction she picked up a couple of years back. She encouraged me to work on more scales, and she showed me a couple of new ways to work on them. I made her a pot of soup and encouraged her to keep writing and working her program so she can be an artist again.
Yesterday was also all about music. Sue and I went to the symphony, and in honor of Lunar New Year, the first half was Asian composers and Asian soloists, and it was superb. The conductor was Deanna Tham, and the second half was Rachmaninoff’s symphonic dances. Tham seemed to dance her way through the whole sweeping piece, which is not too surprising since she's also an accomplished rock climber.
I won’t say much about the national scene, though you might take a look at Energia’s blip. Not everyone is yielding to the fascist takeover.
