I was surprised but delighted to see a Great White Egret (I stand to be corrected of course) feeding on the paddocks across the river this morning.
I came to that conclusion because it had black feet as opposed to the yellow of the Little Egret and seemed much larger than the Little Egrets I've seen elsewhere.   It was also leaning forwards whereas the Little Egret is more upright.    I've made a collage to show the black feet and various stances as it searched for food amongst the horse droppings.    The horse seemed oblivious to it being followed and also being source of food.
