Roman Theatre Malaga

An unusually stormy night, strong winds and heavy rain which persisted throughout the day. The kitchens at the hotel flooded and the amazing staff, wearing white wellingtons, transformed the main bar area into a makeshift breakfast room. Fortunately there was no loss of power and no serious damage anywhere.

The trains were running as per usual so I decided to go to Malaga. I hadn’t booked for the Picasso museum and the queues went as far back as the cathedral so I gave it miss. I had really wanted to see the Russian Art Gallery, an offshoot of the one in St Petersburg which being Monday was closed.

I substituted all this with a walk around the city in terrible weather and returned to Torremolinos in the early afternoon. Tomorrow promises to be a much better day.

The upside was the various readily available weather related conversations.

I am about to find out if the kitchen remains closed, meaning a cold supper.
