I had a rough night for sleep so I had to pass on my plein air outing this morning. I texted my regrets to L and walked out the back door for some photos. 

I caught the neighbour's flag rising and falling in the breeze. It made me ponder the state of things in this nation at the moment. When will that flag fly proudly again? 

Resistance is mounting. At home, US/Canada hockey games played in Canada brought out booing when the US National anthem was played. Provincial and federal governments have announced their reactions with reciprocal tarriffs. The province of Ontario has cancelled its contract ($100 million?) with Starlink, Muskrat's service. It's going to get ugly. 

I caught the street sweeper cruising by my house. It kicks up a lot of dust but somehow seems necessary. Is that the state of things here?

I'm going to spend a quiet day at home. I'm thinking of all the working people who will be hurt by all these political machinations. I'm so sorry. (And that is a very Canadian statement.)
