Wigeon

A bit of a washout today. I went out to Stenness and got off the bus at the Ring of Brodgar. Then past the stones and onto the path by Loch of Stenness, hoping for an otter. The water was pretty rough though, in a strong SW wind with showers. I got to the hide at Barnhouses overlooking the Loch of Harray and had coffee in relative comfort. Ten whoopers flew over and off before I could get a shot. Lots of mute swans, wigeon, tufted duck, mallard, ravens, lapwings, curlew etc. All quite distant, like the ducks in the shot.
