Watch This Space!

I'm watching but I'm near to tears.

This is Amber Nook, a holiday lodge we bought as a retirement project 20 years ago. We had paid off our mortgage so were in a position to ask again and a gift in a will enabled us to fully furnish it.

We have spent many Saturday's here cleaning and getting everything nice for our visitors. In 2020 we stripped the wood effect vinyl off the doors and hand-painted them. Now fingernails have spoiled the paint, the fridge/freezer is 20 years old and has cracks and I've never liked the solid rings on the hob. Its time for a full makeover.  which begins tomorrow.

I say I'm near to tears because I have put me heart into the decorating of this place. Every purchase was made thoughtfully to live up to the name, Amber Nook. Now everything is about to change. The damaged flooring will be replaced and cream is just not the "in" colour for kitchen units.

Well, the room is empty except for the large sofas and I was lucky to get the ceiling painted yesterday. Just the kitchen appliances to remove now that I've taken this "Before" photo. (I still forgot to bring the full frame Canon with its wide-angle lens!)
