Captain Cook

Any statue of James Cook is always going to be a likely target for protesters on Australia Day. This one just up the road from isbi’s hospital in Randwick didn’t escape their attention last week, being daubed with red paint and having his right hand amputated.
No repairs have yet been carried out - the council may have determined he’ll only get hit again so why spend the money or maybe prosthetic hands for statues are not so readily available.
