The Weekend

I shook off all of last week by partying hard. Lunch on Saturday with the eccentric judge and my allotment pal. What an odd grouping we must have looked and what a variety of opinions on all manner of topics.

Sunday was a visit from old pals, a celebration of his retirement. Lots of reminiscing, cocktails, champagne, good food. Story after story of half remembered hilarious moments from our youth, railings we didn't quite manage to hurdle, crying in corners at parties, music that evokes a time, a place, who never bought a round. Between the 6 of us, we managed to fill in the gaps.

It was a proper tonic of a weekend.
