Sunset

Sunset over Scapa Flow. An emergency blip as I came over the barriers this afternoon. A cold, clear, windless day. Lovely to see the days getting longer each week. 

I should explain that I did park first and walk along to the barrier! I wish I could take photos while I'm driving - there was a wonderful sunset over the little Loch at St Mary's, with dozens of ducks silhouetted on the water. Hey ho! Too many cars behind me to risk stopping.

I'd been in to see John. Still in hospital but he's being well looked after, is enjoying the food and is much calmer. Some days he doesn't open his eyes, just dozes and rests, but today he knew who I was and we had a bit of a chat. I told him about the hen harrier I'd seen over the trees in his back garden.

Sometimes he responds to things like this and it's lovely to know he's still the same John.
