Flying Under The Radar, Maidstone

We did our usual food shop today and out usual drink afterwards at The Horseshoes. On the way back through town we decided to stop next to the Archbishop's Palace (see my previous blip from 30th December last year) and walk down to the river to see if we could get a photograph or two. As today was beautifully sunny I remembered that one of the road bridges over the Medway had fantastic reflective light that bounced off the water to create these amazing patterns beneath it. I then noticed that pigeons were roosting there and flying in and out on a regular basis. I took quite a few shots but this was the only one where one of the birds spread its' wings perfectly.
When we arrived home I realised I wanted to get on with making the evening meal - Smoky Mexican-style chicken stew. It's from a recipe I found in Waitrose food magazine. It features two tins of plum tomatoes and I find any dish with that amount tends to be a bit on the sharp side so I added some cheddar cheese and a dash of sour cream to counteract it. It worked really well and then I added the 40g of dark chocolate that it recommended, which really does give the dish an extra dimension.
