Talking trees

The forester came to look at our tree planting including the smaller field where the little saplings were mistakenly lopped off at ground level back in June.

He reckoned most of them will survive, albeit with the loss of two years' growth. They will at least have strong root systems. He planted a few more where there were gaps and gave the trees in this larger field his approval. Leaf buds are visible already, getting ready for spring.

The two flat pieces of apparatus in the background here are our solar array, angled to catch the sun morning and afternoon. Even on a fine winter's day like this one they feed power into the grid and in summer make more than we use.
