Crepuscular Rays today .

Without Blipfoto I wouldn’t have recognised the crepuscular rays , I would still have taken the shot though. ( a rose by any other name ………. )
Todays walk took about one and a half hours and offered some interesting and unexpected views . The view in the photo is looking downhill towards where we live and we often walk up the hill through this very field . It’s pretty muddy at this time of year which really puts me off .
Apart from walking I’ve been snacking on the fruity flapjacks that I made last night , planting bulbs and then planting some brightly coloured primula to cheer the garden up , it’s looking quite forlorn at the moment.
Next time I take Bramble to the vets she will probably suggest that I need to lose some pounds too , the flapjack is hard to resist .
Thank you for your kind , thoughtful and supportive comments yesterday about creativity in the curriculum. They were very much appreciated.

I’m writing the next bit as a reminder to myself so don’t feel obliged to read it .
I spent the first 18 years of my working life teaching teenagers and then adults that had found themselves on the edges of society due to being illiterate. I moved into the primary sector when I realised that it was there that you get the greatest opportunity to make a difference to children’s life chances . For the following 20+ years I taught ages 5 to 8 with a mission to eusure that all children on my watch left our department both literate and numerate . Having a creative curriculum was what made this possible ,particularly when the years of austerity brought a reduction in staffing levels and resources.
Without a doubt it will be back, firstly because it works and secondly because some bright , ambitious spark in the right time and place will reinvent the wheel and everyone will jump on the band wagon. Having a creative curriculum will become the,” in thing.” I just hope it doesn’t take too long . The new Labour government seem to have a more enlightened view on the value of creativity in general so , fingers crossed etc , there may be better times ahead .
