Last Day of the Season

I've had a genuinely busy day and can actually (vaguely) remember what i have done. Albeit only 7855 steps as i write this which is disappointing. Started with Pilates, then home and an hours gardening with Gilbert (mainly Gilbert). Then off to the Bookham & Fetcham Repair Café. Where some very talented people mended a hole in my stretchy jeggings (blanket stitch, the answer apparently), glued the backs onto 2 pairs of earrings and darned a hole in a pair of recycled cashmere gloves. A great job there team. Then i zipped up to Leatherhead Glass to pick up my refurbished Ercol coffee table which they had kept to ensure that the glass they were cutting to protect the top actually fitted (it does. Transporting it is a nightmare though). As I was near Tesco, I then popped in there for some tomatoes and gravy granules (I had to retire the box that went out of date in May 23 (I don't use gravy granules much as you can tell)). Then i drove to Claygate (there was a logic in my route) to pick up a lamp that I had spotted on Facebook Marketplace. which I am very happy with. Then home and had a very belated breakfast. And as i write this its 1809 and I am off to see near neighbour Carol for dinner.
Back to the blip, These pheasant were hanging up outside my local fishmonger at Grove Corner. It is an excellent fishmonger and whilst I was there I had a chat with the fishmonger who told me that they actually got the pheasant for nothing. He said I could have as many as I liked. A kind offer but not really my cup of tea. Beautiful birds though. (in the meantime I bought a salmon steak. For dinner tomorrow.
