When we first planted this dwarf cordon apple tree it was on 2 inch diameter posts with wires. The tree outgrew them very quickly and we put in 3 inch diameter posts either side and more wires.
That collapsed last summer under the weight of the fruit (over 100 apples) and some high winds.
Now both previous versions have been pulled out and a new frame with 4 inch diameter posts installed.
Too cold to carry on this afternoon but tomorrow we will put the wires on and tie in the branches.
