St Conall's Well (possibly)

A hectic day yesterday - no time to blip but I have backblipped if anyone cares to take a peek. It's Bank Holiday  here and we're in the midst of a Hawaiian themed weekend! Yes, it's now raining. However, things kicked off last night with the pub quiz - hosted this year by Graham Norton.  70 tables, some in the marquee and a few in the restaurant of the pub! The great and the good and those inbetween assembled. Predicably it was a hilarious night though we were under the speakers and deafened!  And who was the first person Graham spoke to (and kissed!!)??? Moi! Sorry, just had to throw that in. He was looking very good having just had a couple of weeks in the Hamptons and in fine form. We staggered home at around 12.30 and I'm afraid to say I availed of the chipper and had  a carton of chips and tomato sauce on the way.

Tonight there's meant to be a Hawaiian themed beach party but that's looking a bit optimistic and tomorrow is the main regatta. We've just been to a barbecue and got drenched but the man in New Zealand is predicting excellent weather from the 12th onwards.

I had to zoom down to Baltimore this morning and stopped off at what could be St Conall's well on my way home. I say could be for the directions don't quite fit the description but it's a little well nonetheless. It's in a beautiful position  - a tidal creek surrounded by a high cliff. The well is neatly made out of stone and protected by this rather attractive metal gate and the water is clear and cold. I liked the spirals. Who St Conall was is a bit unclear.

Hang on, the sun might be coming out there could be music and fire eating on the water after all!
