I only headed to Donegal, when Michael was able to confirm his electricity had come back on this morning, he has been a week without it. 14 hours of no electricity last Friday was enough for me. However, before 6pm his brother (who works for the ESB) rang to say it would be switched off in 20 minutes at the transformer, to replace a faulty part. Luckily he thought it would only take about an hour, he was good to his word.
We also heard how much verbal abuse some of the ESB personnel received, by stressed customers. Those guys have worked tirelessly since the red alert was lifted & they are probably all exhausted, Michael's brother certainly is.
